Diving Boats

3 different boats, called „Bancas“, are available for our base.

The bancas are gravenly trimarans and made of wood and bamboo. Philippines are using the bancas to move between different islands, for fishing or to visit the market. The bancas are existing in different dimensions and types, each time adapted to the use, like driving, fishing, driving or luxury cruise.

The smallest bancas, called “paddle bancas” are mostly used by kids near the coast. Larger bancas, called “Pumpboat”. Unsual to see these days are “Sailing bancas”.
The huge boom made of bamboo is characteristic for bancas, it is important for the stability of the boat. Because of the lower draught bancas mostly used in coastal water.
Bancas do not have lower keel or countersunk-fin, due to this bancas are unured against grounding.
The nobility of bancas is limited due to the flow restistance of the boom and the small fin-rudder.
